Figure Studies

For a change I thought I would show some of my live figure studies I did this evening. When I attended art school in Philadelphia I enjoyed figure drawing. Twenty years later I still enjoy drawing live models. Some people think artists become cartoonists because they can not draw realistically which is not the case. Understanding anatomy and drawing what I see helps me be a better caricature artist. These are 3 to 10 minute color pencil sketches.

Those are great. I totally agree, I think its actually harder to draw something simply and capture the likeness. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for stopping by Derek. Also to draw simply and capture likeness in a 5 minute sketch takes years of practice.
