Figure Studies

For a change I thought I would show some of my live figure studies I did this evening. When I attended art school in Philadelphia I enjoyed figure drawing. Twenty years later I still enjoy drawing live models. Some people think artists become cartoonists because they can not draw realistically which is not the case. Understanding anatomy and drawing what I see helps me be a better caricature artist. These are 3 to 10 minute color pencil sketches.

Asheville's Bele Chere Festival

I drew this past weekend at the Bele Chere festival in downtown Asheville. Bele Chere means "beautiful living" in ancient Scottish. I took a few pictures of my work.
