Blue Tongue
This is David op De Beeck, a new member of the International Society of Caricature Artists I thought giving him a blue tongue would be fun. The drawing was done on the odopod.com drawing site.
Watch its recording here.

Skull Sketch
Understanding the structure and anatomy of a skull is very important. When I draw a live caricature I use this information to guide the exaggeration and likeness of the person. Above is a skull I drew on odosketch.

Portrait of Maria
A portrait with some exaggeration. I sketched it while sitting at the 34th annual Biltmore Village Art and Craft Fair last weekend. Drawn with a PITT artist brush pen and shaded with black Prisamacolor pencil and charcoal pencil. I post photographs of mine at fotocommunity.com and I saw the striking image of this little girl. It was taken by Kaleriya Bogoyavlenskaya from Baku, Azerbaijan.

Figure Studies
For a change I thought I would show some of my live figure studies I did this evening. When I attended art school in Philadelphia I enjoyed figure drawing. Twenty years later I still enjoy drawing live models. Some people think artists become cartoonists because they can not draw realistically which is not the case. Understanding anatomy and drawing what I see helps me be a better caricature artist. These are 3 to 10 minute color pencil sketches.
