Watercolor for All Souls

The All Souls Counseling Center here in Asheville asked me to paint a watercolor for them. There are two flowering trees on the front landscaping. Unfortunately they decided not to bloom this season. I used my imagination when I did the painting.

Apple Portrait

A more formal portrait. I did exaggerate the features subtly to bring out her personality. Rendered with Faber Castell PITT markers and black pencil. Altered the rendering in Photoshop.

Watercolor Art Show

From February 6th to the 28th I will be showing my watercolor paintings at the First Congregational United Church of Christ Art Gallery. Their address is 20 Oak Street Asheville 28801. I will be at the official opening on February 6th after the Sunday service around 11:30AM.

Portrait Drawing Workshop

Last week I took a Portrait Drawing class taught by Angela Cunningham from The Grand Central Academy of Art. The workshop was held at The Fine Arts League of the Carolinas in Asheville, NC. I learned to slow down drawing from 10am to 5pm each day.

Portrait of Maria

A portrait with some exaggeration. I sketched it while sitting at the 34th annual Biltmore Village Art and Craft Fair last weekend. Drawn with a PITT artist brush pen and shaded with black Prisamacolor pencil and charcoal pencil. I post photographs of mine at fotocommunity.com and I saw the striking image of this little girl. It was taken by Kaleriya Bogoyavlenskaya from Baku, Azerbaijan.

Peep Show

I wanted to use a discarded object for my piece. I found a bathroom cabinet. An object everyone looks into
each morning. I placed my artwork where the mirror was. I titled it Glare.
