Volunteering for Friends for Life Radiothon

This is the third year I volunteered my services to draw caricatures for the Friends for Life Radiothon. It was held the Asheville Mall food court on Feb 17th and Feb 18th. Here are a few drawings I did.

UNCA Valentine Day Party

I drew caricatures for the University of North Carolina Asheville's Sweetheart Carnival on Valentines Day. The college students also received Teddy bears at the event.

Wedding Caricatures at Primland Resort

I had the pleasure of drawing caricatures for the wedding of Heather & Charlie. It was held at the beautiful Primland Resort in Meadows of Dan, VA. Ben, of Essential Sunsine Photography, posted a few photos of the wedding which I was captured.

2011 ISCA Convention Video

I attended the International Society of Caricature Artists convention in Florida this past November. This video is mostly taken in the ballroom where all the artists draw caricatures of each other. Included are some shots of the "Likeness Competition" and "Speed Competition" and "Retail Competition". If you want to become a better caricature artist join this organization. End of Year Caricature

I have been busy drawing live caricatures as 2011 nears an end. My travels for events have taken me to a 90th birthday party in Greenville-South Carolina, a company sales meeting in Kingsport-Tennessee, a wedding in Chapel Hill-North Carolina and I am off to a Christmas party in Spartanburg-South Carolina today. Below is a caricature I did at the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa in Asheville, North Carolina.

Wedding Couple Caricature

Here is a commissioned caricature for a wedding couple. Shown is my very ruff initial sketch and a cleaned up version I showed the client. In the inked final I made some more changes like the perspective of the sofa and moved the nurse hat and his cheese. Watercolors were used. At the rehearsal dinner the illustration was presented and I drew live caricatures of the guests.

Florida ISCA Caricatures

Back from the ISCA convention held at the Tradewinds Hotel at St Pete Beach, Florida. Here I am next to my wall of caricatures. For the first time I made some silhouette caricatures.
