End of Year Caricature

I have been busy drawing live caricatures as 2011 nears an end. My travels for events have taken me to a 90th birthday party in Greenville-South Carolina, a company sales meeting in Kingsport-Tennessee, a wedding in Chapel Hill-North Carolina and I am off to a Christmas party in Spartanburg-South Carolina today. Below is a caricature I did at the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa in Asheville, North Carolina.

Wedding Couple Caricature

Here is a commissioned caricature for a wedding couple. Shown is my very ruff initial sketch and a cleaned up version I showed the client. In the inked final I made some more changes like the perspective of the sofa and moved the nurse hat and his cheese. Watercolors were used. At the rehearsal dinner the illustration was presented and I drew live caricatures of the guests.

Florida ISCA Caricatures

Back from the ISCA convention held at the Tradewinds Hotel at St Pete Beach, Florida. Here I am next to my wall of caricatures. For the first time I made some silhouette caricatures.

20th Annual ISCA Convention

I will be attending the International Society of Caricature Artists (ISCA) convention in St Pete Beach, Florida from November 13th - 18th. I always have fun staying up late drawing caricatures of fellow ISCA artists. Since 2006 I have attended all the annual conventions.

Group Caricature for Company Retreat

This company was having a retreat and wanted a fun caricature illustration to be presented. The president is in the center saying "Let's go here". Surrounding him are his hard working employees. It was fun personalizing each person. The illustration is 18" by 24" and I rendered it in indian ink and watercolor washes.

American Society of Interior Designers

The American Society of Interior Designers hosted their South East Chapter Fall Conference here in Asheville. They asked me to draw gift caricatures of the presenting speakers to give as a thank you. Each one was 11" by 14"

Portrait with some exaggeration

I drew this from someone's photograph. Actually it was off a cell phone. I call it a portrait with some exaggeration.

Caricature Cake Topper

You can get your caricature on top of your wedding cake. The bride contacted me and sent photos I needed to create the illustration. It was a fun project.

LAAFF 2011

The Lexington Avenue Arts and Fun Festival was this past weekend. Met a lot of locals and people from out of town. Here are two couples I drew.

Altec Picnic

Asheville Dog

The weather has been nice lately so I went downtown to draw. Without their knowing I drew a couple's dog as they eat at a restaurant. They liked the results.

Bele Chere 2011 Caricatures
